Decades Long Durability For FRP Tanks

Industrial Plastic Systems’ (IPS) recent FRP tank case study has been published in Composites World Magazine. The story-rich research piece was done in partnership with IET Link and focuses on the fiberglass tanks located at the Trail Ridge landfill.

The case study highlights over three decades of reliable and safe use of fiberglass storage tanks manufactured by IPS. The piece also amplifies the nearly 50 year history that IPS has in the composites industry, as well as the family history held within the large facility.

“IPS produced and deployed multiple GFRP tanks at the Trail Ridge site in 1990, which were still meeting regulatory standards after multiple decades of exposure to harsh environmental conditions,” the piece summarizes.

“IPS has been a mainstay in the Lakeland Florida manufacturing scene,” the article describes.

“Part of the steadily growing manufacturing sector of central Florida, the company has serviced both U.S. and international customers, ranging from water treatment facilities to dairy processing plants to major theme parks, and to come full circle, landfill sites. These kinds of projects have included buried FRP header systems for methane gas vacuum extraction, buried lift stations and sumps, scrubbers, fabricated GFRP ducts for waste gas collection and leachate storage tanks.”
